DON’T TELL ME HOW IT ENDS

This installation emerges from fear; the fear that seeps into the very spaces meant to shelter us. The tiles appear orderly, calculated, almost playful in their colour, yet in the blink of an eye they reveal themselves as targets, a geometry of threat disguised as design. A body stands at the centre, exposed.
Not mine, protected as I am by layers of privilege, but those of all who sought refuge in hospitals and schools, spaces that should have been untouchable.

This work points to the violence that infiltrates the everyday, to the systems that decide whose lives are shielded and whose are left in the line of fire.
